The densest cluster of routes on the island: nine variants around Rabaçal, foggy Fanal, the Levada dos Cedros and the cliff descents to Paul do Mar and Jardim do Mar. The common thread is the Paul da Serra plateau and the ER 110 approach.

The plateau gets cold and wet even in summer, and cloud arrives within a quarter of an hour. A head torch is mandatory on the tunnel variants.
